A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE MIAMI ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT COUNCIL ("MAEC"), ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, IN THE AMOUNT OF THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED FIFTY AND 21/100 DOLLARS ($35,650.21) TO PROVIDE FOR THE MANAGEMENT, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2026, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2027.

WHEREAS, the Miami Arts and Entertainment Council (“MAEC”) is a limited agency and instrumentality of the City of Miami ("City") created pursuant to Ordinance No. 12192, adopted March 7, 2002, as subsequently amended; and
WHEREAS, the MAEC is responsible for, among other things, to serve in an advisory capacity and make recommendations in an effortto guidethe Mayor, City Commission, and City Manager regarding endorsements or support of specific art and entertainment special events, performance and productions, the acceptance or acquisition of art by the City; soliciting and accepting grants, contributions andfinancial and non-financial support from individuals, private business interests, the general public, governmental entities, corporations and organizations, foundations and other philanthropic entities; coordinating and originating cultural and entertainment activities within the City, and to approve the expenditure of funds in furtherance thereof; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-1144 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, provides that the MAEC shall submit an annual budget (“Budget”) and an annual master plan (“Plan”) to the City Commission for approval; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the MAEC reviewed and approved the MAEC’s budget in the amount ofThirty-Five Thousand,Six Hundred Fifty and 21/100 Dollars ($35,650.21)for FiscalYear 2026-2027 onAugust 26, 2026;and
WHEREAS, the MAEC requests the approval of the MAEC’s Budget in the total amount of Thirty-Five Thousand,Six Hundred Fifty and 21/100 Dollars ($35,650.21)for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027, attached and incorporated as Exhibit “A,” and the Plan, attached and incorporated as Exhibit “B;”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The MAEC’s Budget in the total amount of Thirty-Five Thousand,Six Hundred Fifty and 21/100 Dollars ($35,650.21)for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027, attached and incorporated as Exhibit “A,” and the Plan, attached and incorporated as Exhibit “B,” are approved and adopted.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.
