A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($300,000.00), FROM THE COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (“COCONUT GROVE BID”), FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ON-DEMAND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WITHIN THE COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT AREA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FUNDING ACCEPTANCE AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO COLLABORATE WITH THE COCONUT GROVE BID TO DETERMINE APPROPRIATE ROUTE IMPLEMENTATION.

WHEREAS, the City of Miami (“City”) manages on-demand transportation services consisting of routes located within the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (“Coconut Grove BID”)area; and
WHEREAS, on-demand transportation services enhance connections to existing Miami-Dade Transit (“MDT”) MetroBus, MetroRail, and MetroMover services, creating a more efficient multimodal transportation system within the City, including the Coconut Grove area; and
WHEREAS, the Coconut Grove BID at its Board of Director’s meeting on December 5, 2024, approved the allocation of an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($300,000.00) for the purpose of providing on-demand transportation services in the Coconut Grove BID area; and
WHEREAS, the City deems it beneficial and, in the City’s best interests, to accept the funds from the Coconut Grove BID to fund on-demand transportation services in the Coconut Grove BID area; and
WHEREAS, the City shall collaborate with the Coconut Grove BID in determining the best route implementation throughout the Coconut Grove BID area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to accept funds from the Coconut Grove BID in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($300,000.00) for the purpose of providing on-demand transportation services in the Coconut Grove BID area.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized1 to execute the Funding Acceptance and Acknowledgement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.
