A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING THE TEN (10) DAY PER ORGANIZATION, PER YEAR SPECIAL EVENT MAXIMUM FOR EVENTS ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY PURSUANT CHAPTER 52/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TITLED βSPECIAL EVENTS/SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT,β FOR A SPECIAL EVENT TO BE HELD ON THE EAST 100 BLOCK OF EAST FLAGLER STREET BETWEEN EAST FIRST AVENUE AND EAST SECOND AVENUE FOR THE LOST BOY CLUBHOUSE EVENT FROM JUNE 6, 2026, THROUGH JULY 22, 2026.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(i) of the City Code, β\[t\]he above limitations on Special Events may be waived by an affirmative vote of the City Commission for the calendar year affected. Any such additional Permit(s), however, will be limited to fourteen (14) consecutive days at a timeβ; and
WHEREAS, Lost Boy Dry Goods and the Miami Downtown Development Authority (βEvent Holderβ) are combining efforts to add to the FIFA World Cup 2026 celebrations; and
WHEREAS, Lost Boy Dry Goods bar and restaurant has been a downtown Miami staple since 2018 located in the 100 block of East Flagler Street and has been hosting World Cup, Premiere League and Championship League watch parties since its opening; and
WHEREAS, the Event Holder will be putting forth the Lost Boy Clubhouse Event (βEventβ) which will include a covered area for spectator and a soccer pitch to be located on the street of the 100 block of East Flagler Street, between East First and Second Avenues (βEvent Siteβ); and
WHEREAS, the Event will be host to local as well as international and national travelers who have come to the greater Miami-Dade County area to enjoy the FIFA World Cup2026 matches to be played at Hard Rock Stadium; and
WHEREAS, the Event will allow attendees to enjoy food and beverages while watching matches on televisions as well as on the provided soccer pitch; and
WHEREAS, the interior area is air conditioned with a three hundred (300) person capacity and the soccer pitch will be free and open to the community; and
WHEREAS, the event will operate from 9:00 am until conclusion of last match of the day from June 11, 2026, through July 19, 2026; and
WHEREAS, for purposes of set up and takedown, the waiver will be in effect from June 6, 2026, through July 22, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Event Site and Event is required to comply with all applicable City and State laws including, but not limited to, building, zoning and noise codes; and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site will be beneficial to the Cityβs residents and visitors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 52-2(i) of the City Code,the ten (10) day limitation per organization, per year for a Special Event pursuant to Section 52-2(h)(1) is hereby waived to allow the Event at the Event Site from June 6, 2026, through July 22, 2026.
Section3. This Resolution does not waive any other requirements of the City Code, including but not limited to, noise restrictions, applicable fees, inspections, and permits.
Section4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
