AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RENAMING THE CITY OF MIAMI (“CITY”) PARK LOCATED AT 971 NORTHWEST 2ND STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AND IDENTIFIED BY FOLIO NO. 01-4138-003-0690, FROM “RUBÉN DARÍO PARK” TO “HENDERSON PARK”; AMENDING CHAPTER 38/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED ("CITY CODE"), TITLED “PARKS AND RECREATION/IN GENERAL,” BY AMENDING SECTION 38-38 OF THE CITY CODE, CURRENTLY TITLED “NAMING OF RUBÉN DARÍO PARK,” TO RENAME THE PROPERTY DESIGNATED THEREIN AS “HENDERSON PARK”; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE RENAMING OF THE PARK, INCLUDING THE REPLACEMENT OF APPLICABLE SIGNAGE WITHIN THIRTY (30) CALENDAR DAYS; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, prior to the adoption of Ordinance No. 14359, the Park was formerly known as “Henderson Park”; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is appropriate to rename the Park to its original name “Henderson Park”;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 38/Article I of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is further amended in the following particulars:
“CHAPTER 38
PARKS AND RECREATION
ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL

Sec. 38-38. Naming of Rubén DaríoHenderson Park.
The parcel of land consisting of approximately 155,700 square feet located at 971 Northwest 2 Street, Miami, Florida shall be named "Rubén DaríoHenderson Park."

Section 3. The City Manager is directed to take any and all administrative actions necessary to effectuate the renaming of the Park, including but not limited to the replacement of applicable signage within thirty (30) calendar days of the effective date of this Ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after final reading and adoption thereof.
