CA.1 - Accept $65,150 Fema Grant Usar

WHEREAS,theCityofMiami("City")hasbeenawardedagrantintheamountofSixty-Five Thousand,One Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($65,150.00) ("Grant"), from the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal EmergencyManagementAgency("FEMA"),passedthroughtheStateofFloridaDivisionof Emergency Management ("FDEM"); and

WHEREAS,pursuanttotheGrant'sstipulations,saidfundsshallbeutilizedby the City’s Department of Fire-Rescue to supportFlorida Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 2 (“USAR Task Force 2”) team capabilities through training and equipment related expenditures ("Program"); and

WHEREAS,therearenomatchingCityfundsrequired;and

WHEREAS,theperiodoftheGranttermcommencesonthedatetheGrant agreement between the City and FDEM is fully executed and expires on August 31, 2028; and

WHEREAS,itisappropriatefortheCityCommissiontoaccepttheGrantandto establish a special revenue project for the appropriation of the Grant for the Program;

NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHECOMMISSIONOFTHECITYOF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1.TherecitalsandfindingscontainedinthePreambletothisResolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2.TheCityManagerisauthorized1toaccepttheGrantandtoestablisha new special revenue project for the appropriation of the Grant for the Program.

Section3.ThefollowingnewSpecialRevenueProjectisestablishedandresourcesare appropriated as described below:

FUND TITLE:State Homeland Grant Program Sub-Recipient Agreement

for Expenditure of Local Government Unit Funding for

Florida USAR Task Force - FY 2025

RESOURCESGrant funds from FEMA through FDEM $65,150.00

APPROPRIATIONS: USAR Task Force 2$65,150.00

Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized to execute a Grant agreement, in substantially the attached form, execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, renewals, and extensions, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement the acceptance, administration, and compliance with the Grant.

Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.
